In August 2019 I called the police because my husband of 1 year had just lost it on me at a copy center where we were supposed to be signing divorce papers.
It took 3 calls to 911 over the course of an hour even though I told the 911 operator this man had 5 guns in his possession in his truck.
And when the police officer arrived he said “what did you do to provoke (your husband)?”
Yep he did, I was a victim being blamed for provoking someone to threaten to abuse and further victimize me.
Not enough is being done to stop law enforcement from abusing the obviously abused party on site. Gabby Petito would be alive today if the 2 cops weren’t abusers themselves and dismissed the obvious bruises on her face and terrified demeanor.
Abusers cover for other abusers and law enforcement needs to stop covering for the bad ones in their flock.
