RECOVERY AND RESILIANCY

I’m always so proud of my old San Francisco shrommate and best selling authoress Anna David.

I started drinking when I was 11. Life as a preteen/teen in New England had us growing up quick-maybe it’s the long cold winters.

In my adult corporate life I used to be the fireball queen, life of the party, danced on the tables but never an “addict”.

Now I’ll have one Tito’s cosmo or martini (shaken not stirred, 3 blue cheese stuffed olives) if I go out. I like living like the Amish on my farms on the mid coast of Maine. The “Frozen Tundra” I affectionately call Maine.

It gets dark at 4:30pm now. I LOVE it. I’m asleep by 8pm and up when the sun comes up.

I love that I no longer have to feel like I have to be out “producing” or out “partying and/or entertaining” my real estate clients.

I loved them but my entertainment budget when working for Sotheby’s in Atlanta was well over $30,000 a year. That’s ALOT of liquor.

I admire anyone who can tackle an addiction with tenacity, grace, humility and honesty like Anna.
